Starting to sound like a broken record. This is at least the 7th time in the last two weeks. Serious issues with the erver I am sure. THey replaced at least one the other day. maybe it is in need of an overhaul. I guess the reason why I am obsessing is because I use the site and it’s resources so much. “You don’t know what you have until it’s gone” Will try and keep on top of this. If you have any info for us, please provide a comment. Cheers all and Happy hunting. (Reg a few off our lists while you are waiting)
EDIT: The site is back up as of 6:22pm. Was not up an hour ago so out at least 8 hours.

Here we go again. The site was having issues with load speeds all day yesterday and now we have another down time. Not sure how long it has been down so far but at least a few hours as far as I can tell. Maybe NamePros needs to work on a new server setup or set of servers. Would love feedback on what the issue it. The only thing we seem to hear from them is “We are changing out the servers” or “We have just reloaded the system and it is taking time” Me things there might be a bigger issue here.
This is a big issue based on the pure number of people that visit and stay on the site for extended periods of time. It plays a critical role in the industry so this will make news in the community. Will keep you updated.
EDIT: As of 11am or so, the site was back up. Looking for some answers as to why this is happening so frequently.

Ran accoss this promo from Tucows for their resellers. The devil is in the details. Although they are offering the domain for free, you still have to pay the Icann fee $.20 + the $3.00 “Management Fee” and this is for Resellers. Not sure you are going to get a lot of domainers buying .info domains for $3.20 when you can get them for $.99 from GoDaddy but at least they are trying.
Here are the details
OpenSRS has partnered with Affilias, the Registry Operator for the .INFO domain extension, to offer discount pricing on .INFO domains to OpenSRS Resellers. The terms of this special pricing promotion are as follows:
* .INFO domain names will be available at a Registry cost of $0.00 between January 1st, 2009 and June 30th, 2009 inclusive.
* The promotional price applies only to new one-year registrations or the first year of a new multi-year registration.
* You will still be charged your OpenSRS Management Fee($3!!!) and the ICANN Fee ($0.20) on any .INFO domains sold during the promotional period.

Not sure what is going on over at Namepros. Seems as if there have been recurring server issues that have been causing the site and on different occations, the chat feature to not resolve. They were able to correct the chat feature to get the Auction off without a hitch. As a regular visitor to the forum, this is frustrating because of how much valuable information is on the site that we use every day. Will try and keep you posted. In the meantime, Take a look at some available names and reg a few. You have the time! Happy hunting.
UPDATE: 2:00pm 1-23 The main page and primary sub pages are up but all thread pages and Chat are still down!
